Body Fat
There are several factors, which determine a person’s healthy amount of body fat.
Too little body fat, such as in people with eating disorders, can result in serious
health problems. Too much body fat can also lead to health risks. Typically,
women need more body fat than men. A healthy woman needs between 12% and
32% body fat and a healthy man needs between 3% and 29%. Women store more
fat on their breasts, hips, and thighs. Men have more muscle mass which burns

Managing Your Medications
You may be taking medications now, or someday may have to take them.
Knowing some important tips about medication will help you get the most benefit
from them. First, both over-the-counter and prescription medicines are powerful
and should be taken as directed. Second, you should know why you’re taking
them and how you should take them; if they should be taken on an empty stomach
or a full one. Let your doctor know if you take any over-the-counter medicines

88
that might interact with a prescription. Always read the labels. Warnings about
drug or alcohol interactions can save your life. Take the medication exactly as
directed on the label or as your doctor tells you to. Don’t take more than
prescribed, even if you don’t see results after the first few days. Don’t skip doses.
Set a timer on your watch or cell phone to remind you to take your medicine.
Don’t wait until the medicine is gone to call for a refill. If your pharmacist can’t
refill it, you’ll be going without it, and that could cause even more serious
problems. And finally, after taking the medicine, if you feel sick, have difficulty
breathing, get hives, or have any other type of unusual symptoms, stop taking the
medicine because you could be allergic to it, and call your doctor right away.

trouble breathing after taking the medication?
